I remember the Sundays of my childhood (only one per week was not enough).
When we were sitting around the table, it seemed that roots were growing to make that moment eternal. Everything seemed to stop, kindness was all around.
You needed to be strong to resist the waves of starters, to fight the meat and cherish the last breath of appetite for the cheese. The lunch was long and trust me there was plenty of food. Only the bravest could taste the last notes of sugar.
Eating got something noble, a privilege to be strong. For that you needed appetite, and appetite, everybody got some! The smell of strong coffee was ringing the end of the "agapas"
Nobody could move, beats of happiness, we were slouching on the table that was looking like a winning battlefield.
The belly full, the mind in peace. "I cant wait for the next sunday!"
