Let's Kain is the brainchild of a Filipino - Kiwi husbands. Kain (kah-in) is a play on words, it's a combination of Maori - New Zealand (KAI) and Tagalog - Philippine (KAIN) words which both means 'to eat'.
Our first supper club this year (and our 7th event!) is inspired by our Filipino comfort foods and (to some*) is considered to be classic Philippine favourites.
*In every Filipino gathering there is always a debate about what dish should be considered "classic".
#KAIN7 SAMPLE MENU: WELCOME DRINK LUMPIANG SARIWA - fresh spring roll with peanut sauce (V) LECHON KAWALI - seasoned crispy pork belly paired with a pickled salad in homemade pandesal (Philippine dinner rolls).
CHICKEN ADOBO - you cannot get any other classic Filipino dish than this one! Slow cooked chicken in soy sauce and vinegar paired with garlic fried rice.
and a SURPRISE DESSERT
