In a sea of competition, what sets YOU apart?
Brand storytelling is one of the most powerful tools you can use to build identity, recognition and a fiercely loyal following.
In this talk our three seasoned professionals will be providing incredible insight into how brand storytelling can transform your profile and your business, giving you the invaluable tips and knowledge to empower you to implement these strategies for yourself!
From a BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE, the power of brand storytelling can get lost amongst the day-to-day running. The key messages and core values that separate you from the crowd disappear, and it can feel like you’re far away from what was once important. That’s how you become run of the mill. Connecting back to your values, and learning how to communicate them, is what helps you build a tribe like no other.
From a PERSONAL PERSPECTIVE, the power of storytelling for your personal profile is no different – it’s what connects you to others and allows you to stand out from the crowd.Whether you’re looking to grow or hone your profile, whether you already have a brand or are thinking of establishing one, this talk is for you!
OUR EXPERTS
DAN NASH - Brand Strategist & Founder of SixEight
Dan is the founder of SixEight, a self confessed SE Asian food geek and a brand strategist who gets food brands more customers.
For 5 years Dan has helped food brands like Tonkotsu, Dishoom and Flat Iron turn customers into a cult of superfans through his unique 3 step Cult Brand System, creating a human personality for brands to attract their tribe and create more sales. He says: "The system makes it easy to tell a never-ending story that stands out from the noise and build a tribe for life".
That’s how he's smashed restaurant launches, built engaged communities and turned customers into passionate fans who keep coming back whilst shouting about it to the world.
Dan is going to be giving you the tools to do the same, covering:
- Why you should only speak to one audience
- Why most food brands only share 10% of your story and why you need to share the other 90%
- The myths of storytelling
- The framework that makes it easy to tell a never ending story for your business or personal brand
- Why storytelling is the future for brands with purpose
IFEY FREDERICK - Co-founder Chuku's
A fervent believer in the power of stories and human connection, Ifeyinwa co-founded Chuku’s – the world’s first Nigerian tapas restaurant – to positively rewrite the narrative surrounding Nigerian culture in the UK and build a community centred around good food and good vibes.
Starting Chuku’s without any hospitality experience, she has gained a reputation as an industry pioneer and has been featured in Forbes’ list of 100 Female Founders in Europe and was winner of the 2019 Young British Foodie Awards in the food sharing category. Alongside running Chuku's, she is also a critically acclaimed writer. Her debut play, The Hoes, was staged in London in 2018 and her latest play Sessions which explored depression and therapy, toured the UK in 2021.
With a background in marketing and PR, she is responsible for managing the Chuku’s brand and built the 20,000 strong digital community and led the company’s successful “£30k in 30 days” crowdfunding campaign, raising 120% of their target from nearly 600 supporters.

PAUL FERMIN - Co-founder Earl of East
Paul Firmin is co-founder of award-winning lifestyle brand Earl of East. What started as a candle and home fragrance side hustle in 2014 has grown to include two multi retail stores, one bookshop and 220 stockists worldwide.
Earl of East has 4 pillars, Create, Curate, Collaborate and Community, this foundation weaves through everything they do as a company. The Hackney space has been featured in titles like Vogue and Wallpaper and quickly found a following despite its back street location. In 2018 they opened a second location in London's landmark development; Coal Drops Yard, allowing them to increase the brands they work with and to showcase their own craft further by pouring the candles for the store on site, and in full view of customers and passers by.
Visit one of Earl of East’s stores and you’ll find a curated selection of independent brands and like-minded designers sharing shelves with their own range of home fragrances. Over the years they have become a community hub, holding workshops and events and serving coffee and conversations to a growing community both on and offline.
Paul will be providing insight into:
- How storytelling informs your brand pillars
- How integrated storytelling can grow your brand, fast
