Tel Aviv born Oren has made his name across the capital at a series of pop-ups, including time at The Common E2 and the Terrace at the Oval Space. The menu will showcase his signature modern Mediterranean cooking, with dishes including chicken hearts with pimento and cumin, labneh tortellini in a tomato ragù, and chargrilled octopus with greek yogurt and fennel.
Oren told the Standard: “I want to reach new audiences and introduce new flavors, textures, and ways of presenting great simple good quality ingredients at reasonable prices.
“We are working closely with local suppliers, and respecting the local communities, of which there are many in this area.” Louie Louie opens on Walworth Road, SE17, making a change for the chef, who’s previously been based in the east and north of the capital. He said: “This fantastic part of London is very new to me. There are lots of very open-minded residents as well as very established communities from all across the world and bringing my own East Mediterranean style of cooking here is exciting.”
